HEALTH PROJECT
Obesity, childhood diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and psychiatric problems are steadily increasing along with the rapid rise of health care costs.
Good health comes from good nutrition… and knowledge!
We all need to have a better understanding of what good nutrition really is, as it effects our bodies, brain function, mental clarity, cognitive ability, and mood. Many of us are misinformed and do not understand the consequences of the food choices that we make. We lack basic knowledge of what our bodies need and the addictive nature of some of the processed foods that we consume. This is especially true for those that are limited by their economic status. This situation is dangerous to our society, our health and well-being, and our economy.
We are creating an outreach program starting at the school level to educate students and their families on nutrition, fitness, and healthy lifestyle choices. Our goal is to instill healthy eating and exercise habits that are easy to understand and follow. Our interactive Health Program will bring the most cutting edge information on health and exercise. An information hub will be available to help farmers protect the soil and grow more nutritious food, to help families plan meals and activities, to provide educators with lesson plans and teaching aids, and to help people find farmers markets and healthy activities in their local communities.
Be a catalyst in someone’s life. We really need your help and support; donations, volunteers, and organizations to help with fundraising are just some of the ways that you can make a difference. There are endless ways that you can help raise funds to support our community Health Program. Whether it’s an athletic challenge, a special occasion, or an idea of your own, you can make a big difference in someone’s life…and have fun doing it. Please consider having your corporations, foundation, or organization adopt us as a monthly supporter. We welcome unrestricted support, endowment gifts, and funding for individual projects. We honor the unique preferences and philanthropic goals of each of our foundation partners.
