The Constitution Center

“Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people.”
— John Adams

Many of us know very little about the US Constitution, and more importantly we do not understand it, or the principles it contains. Lacking this knowledge in a representative democracy, citizens can be exploited and manipulated to give up their rights and freedoms without realizing it. Without this knowledge we may vote for politicians or policies that may cause unwanted, even dangerous repercussions in the future.

Schools do not take the time to fully teach about the Constitution, the US Declaration of Independence, or the men who wrote them. Students are taught about these documents as historical artifacts, rather than the revolutionary documents that changed the world…. and more importantly govern the world they live in today.

We are in the process of creating an online portal of information with documents, videos, and scholarly explanation and analysis. In depth lesson plans and course outlines will be made available to educators, at different grade levels. A Video series is underway for teaching students as well as adults on Constitutional issues that affect their daily lives.

A shorter YouTube video series called the Constitutional minute will introduce young people to key principles of the Constitution. These quick entertaining videos not only inform, but pique the interest of the viewer to learn more about the documents.
